Technology can give students the freedom to learn about topics of their own choice, but teachers need a standardized way to assign and assess. This tool called Establish a Base of Knowledge incorporates multiple Core standards while letting students choose individual topics and texts, requiring narrative, informational, and argument, to learn about those topics. Students then teach their peers about what they have learned using technology in a mini TedTalk format.
